Who hasn’t head of Dubai? So much so for the naive it’s synonymous to the Middle East. But, a lot of people are even unaware that Dubai isn’t the capital of the United Arab Emirates, but it’s bustling and growing neighbor, Abu Dhabi.
Over time Abu Dhabi is also emerging and exciting tourist attraction besides being the country’s main governance. There are several places in Abu Dhabi that have become a must visit for tourists visiting the country.
Here are a few of the best places to visit when in Abu Dhabi,
1) The Louvre

For the art lovers, cultural enthusiasts or anyone interested in exploring timeless pieces of art can visit this art mueseum. Sitting on the Saadiyat Island, the museum boasts of 8,000 square metres (86,000 sq ft) of galleries, making it the largest museum in the Arab world.
The mueseums unique architecture with a silver dome is worth visiting for. Besides the temporary exhibitons happening around the year, there are 12 permanent galleries that makes it a must visit.

2) Ferrari World

Ferrai World is the place to go for adventure lovers and thrill seekers. The world’s first Ferrari branded theme park spells also things Ferrari. Perfect for a family day out, the park has over 20 rides and several attractions that cater to the needs of all. With a carousel of Ferrari cars for toddlers to fascination racing simulators for teens. The largest indoor themed park also has the worlds fastest roller coaster in the world (0 to 240 km/h in 5 sec) making it a must visit.

3) Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The most famous and iconic structure in Abu Dhabi is the opulent grand Sheikh Zayed Mosque. The large mosque can accomodate 40,000 worshippers and is a beautiful structure with stunning chandeliers, intricate carvings and magnificent white marble coloums. Open for tours even for non muslims, the mosque offers a chance to witness Islamic architecture and culture for tourists from all over the world.

4) Qasr Al Hosn

The Qasr Al Hosn is an excellent place to understand and learn about the culture and history of the United Arab Emirates. One of the oldest buildings in the city, the fort was built in the 18th century and stands today as a museum and a gateway for all to visit the past. The Qasr Al Hosn fort was built for the ruling families residence, and it’s regal, classic architecture reflects it’s history.

5) Mangrove National Park

Take a break from the rising towers and bustling city life into the mangroves. A preserved national park, the Mangroves are home to more than 60 species of birds. The best way to explore the mangroves is through the guided kayak tour, the place can also be explored on foot at the footbrige built across the park.

6) Emirates Palace

Explore the grandeur and luxurious lifestyle at Emirated Palace. A 7 star hotel property, one does not need to shell out a lump sum to stay, but the Emirates Palace can also be simply visited to explore the magnificient opulence and regal structure. 7) Saadiyat Beach

One of the largest indoor theme parks in the world, the Warner Bros World offers 6 lands based on different popular stories and characters such as Batman, Super man and the Flintstones. It is great for families to visit with their kids and enjoy.

9) Yas WaterWorld

The Yas Waterwold, part of the Yas Island is the perfect place to cool off while having loads of adventure and fun. Sprawling over 37 acres, the waterpark offers amazing and fun water slides, including 40 rides and several other attractions. Home to one of the biggest wave maker machine, the park also offers tube rides, free-fall speed waterslide, lagoons and other slides for all ages. The park is perfect for thrill seekers and also for those who wish to simply lay back and enjoy.
